In a poignant statement earlier today, SheEO founder Vicki Saunders took a strong stance and declared her commitment to diversity. On the organization's Instagram account, she announced that she will no longer be participating in speaker panels that are comprised entirely of white women.

SheEO is a group investing platform that provides interest-free capital to female entrepreneurs in the form of a loan. Its unique structure is a combination of microfinancing and crowdfunding. Each year, SheEO recruits $1,100 from 500 women and loans it to five female entrepreneurs without interest. The newly-funded founders have five years to repay the loan, and in the meantime the fund continues to grow as more investors are recruited and contribute annually. SheEO is actively working to expand its global reach and grow the fund to $1 billion.
