Forget Networking, Now You Can Brunch Your Way to the Top: Brunchwork Lands in LA This Month
Brunchwork, the popular brunch-meet-networking event makes it LA debut later this month at General Assembly Santa Monica, and we think they’ll be right at home in a city that loves brunch as much as it loves entrepreneurial-minded meetups.
Brunchwork was founded by Paulina Karpis and behavioral scientist Jon Levy. Each weekend event follows a similar format: a talk presented by a business or tech industry leader, breakout sessions, and of course, brunch. These events pull heavy hitters for its headliners like GE, Spotify, and Virgin Hyperloop, just to name a few. With a robust following and weekly events already in New York and San Francisco, LA and Boston are the latest additions to the company’s growing lineup, with plans to expand in 2019 to Austin, Chicago, and Washington D.C.
“Our audience is about 50/50, and we try to have at least one woman speaker at our events,” said co-founder Paulina. And the effort certainly shows. Their LA event on October 22nd features not one but two leading industry women: Warner Brothers Senior Vice President Niija Kuykendall and Parachute CEO/Founder Ariel Kaye.
Brunchwork LA kicks off with an event on September 22nd at General Assembly Santa Monica, featuring Spotify Head of Strategy & Operations Phillip Eubanks and Techstars Music Director Jen Hall. Tickets are $35 and Yes She Can readers can save 20% with BRUNCHWORK20LA. Expect a good mix of startup-loving men and women in attendance from this female-friendly company.
